STATEMENT OF FAITH

AMAHAME Y'UKWEMERA

(A)     The Holy Scriptures

(A) Ijambo ryera

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning, where no one passage is taken, contextually, out of the normal and consistent doctrines of the Word of God. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only English translation used by the Church, as we believe it to be the perfect preserved Word of God. The official Kinyarwanda translation of the Bible shall be the one that most closely mirrors that which is written in the English King James Version and specifically not translated from the New International Version (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21).

Twemera ibyanditswe byera by’ikiragano gishaje n'igishya kobyavuzwe kandi bigakomoka ku Mana. Ijambo ryera, n’imvugo ntavuguruzwa, idahinduka, ryahumetswe n'Imana, akaba ari naryo shingiro ridakuka ritera kwemera nokubaho. Ibitabo 66 bigize ikiragano gishaje n’igishya cya Bibiliya ni ibyuzuye kandi byavuye ku Mana, yigaragarijemo umuntu. Ibyanditswe muri Bibiliya bizasobanurwa hakurikijwe kubyumvikana mu mvugo, mukibonezamvugo, no mumateka ya Bibiliya, aho ntawafata igice kimwe ngo agisobanurire uko acyumva, ngo akivane muri kamere rusange y'inyandiko n’imigenzo y’ijambo ry'Imana. Bibiliya yo mu cyongereza y'umwami Yakobo "King James Version" niyo yonyine izakoreshwa, nitorero, Nkuko tubyemera ko ariko ijambo ry'Imana ryanditswe kuburyo bunoze. Bibiliya y’ikinyarwanda isobanuye neza uko ijambo ry'Imana ryanditswe muri icyo gitabo niyo yemewe nkuko rizaba ryarasemuwe kuburyo bwemewe mu Kinyarwanda nko muri Bibiliya y'umwami Yakobo. Iryo jambo ariko rigomba kuba by’umwihariko ryarasemuwe ridaturutse muri (New International Version) (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21).

(B)     Dispensationalism

(B) Amabwiriza agenga ubuzima

We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their natural, literal sense reveal divinely determined dispensations or rules of life, which define man’s responsibilities in successive ages. These dispensations are not ways of salvation, but rather are divinely ordered stewardships by which God directs man according to His purpose. Three dispensations – the law, the Church, and the Kingdom – are the subjects of detailed revelation in Scripture (Gen. 1:28; 1 Cor 9:17; 2 Cor 3:9-18; Gal 3:13-25; Eph 1:10; 3:2-10; Col 1:24-25, 27; Rev 20:2-6).

Twemera ko ibyanditwe byera bisobanuwe muburyo bwumwimerere, nkuko byumvikana bigaragaza amabwiriza agenga ubuzima nkuko Imana yabiteganije; bisobanura umuntu icyo aricyo n’inshingano Imana yamuhaye uko ibihe bihora bisimburana iteka. Aya mategeko agenga ubuzima ntabwo ariyo nzira y’agakiza ahubwo n’amategeko Imana yahaye umuntu kugirango abashe gucunga ibyo yamuragije akurikije umugambi w'Imana ari amategeko agenga ubuzima. Amategeko, Itorero cyangwa Kiliziya, n'ubwami bw'Imana. Ibi n'ibintu byahishuwe kuburyo bunononsoye mu byanditwe byera (Intangiriro 1:28; I Cor. 9:17; 2 Cor 3:9-18; Gal 3:13-25; Eph 1:10; 3:2-10; Col 24-25, 27; Rev 20:2-6).

(C)     The Godhead

(C) Imana imwe

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections, but given to specific roles for which man identifies and interacts with (Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14; John 14:10, 26).

Twemera Imana imwe, Ihoraho mubutatu butagatifu Data watwese, Mwana, na Rohomutagatifu. Umwuka wera babana bagategakana iteka, bameze kimwe, banganya ububasha nicyubahiro bafite inshingano zimwe mutungane bumwe banafite inshingano zihariye Umuntu agerageza kwihuza nazo (Deut. 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2Cor. 13-14; John 14: 10, 26).

(D)     The Person and Work of Christ

(D) Ubumuntu n’ibikorwa bya Yesu Kristo

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (Isa 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor 5:19-21; Gal 4:4-5; Phil 2:5-8)

Twemera ko Umwami Yesu Kristo, Umwana uhoraho w'Imana, yabaye umuntu, atigeze ahagarika kuba Imana, yasamwe kubw'umwuka wera, abyarwa n’isugi Mariya kugirango agaragaze Imana mu bantu b’abanyabyaha abacungure. (Isa 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2; 2 Cor 5:19-21; Gal 4:4-5; Phi 2:5-8).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross and the shedding of His blood as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead and the application of His blood in Heaven. (Acts 2:18-36; Rom 3:24-25; 1 Pet 2:24; Eph 1:7; Heb 9:1-28; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

Twemera kandi ko Yesu Kristo yarangije kudukiza ibyaha mugihe yadupfiraga kumusaraba akatumera amaraso ye kumusaraba, akatubera ingwate y'igitambo, kandi ukuri kwibyo twemera kukaba gushingiye kukuba yarazutse akava mubapfuye ubu akaba ari Mwijuru akidutambira (Ibyakozwe 2:18-36; Rom 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24; Eph 1:7; Heb 9:1-28; 1Peter 1:3-5)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-10; Heb 7:25; 9:24; Rom 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2)

Twemera ko Yesu Kristo yagiye mwijuru, akaba yicaye iburyo bw'Imana, nk'umutambyi mukuru wacu, yuzuza inshingano zo kuduhagarira, kutuvuganira, no kutwunganira. (Acts 1:9-10; Heb 7:25; Rom 8:34; 1 Johm 2:1-2)

(E)      The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.

(E) Kamere n’ibikorwa by'Umwuka wera

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11; Rom 8:9; 1 Cor 12:12-14; 2 Cor 3:6; Eph 1:13-14)

Twizera ko Umwuka wera ari umuntu ahana isi yabanyabyaha, ushaka ubutungane kandi unaca imanza kandi akaba afite ububasha burenze kamere muguhindura imitima y'abantu, akaba anabatiza abemera bose mumubiri wa Kristo; akabagumishamo kandi abakomeza kugeza ku munsi wo gucungurwa. (John 16:8-11; Rom 8:9; 1 Cor 12:12-14; 2 Cor 3:6; Eph 1:13-14).

We believe that He is the Divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and appropriate the Scriptures and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit. (Eph 1:17-18; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27)

Twizera ko ari umwigisha ufite ububasha bw'Imana ufasha abemera kumva no kwakira ubutumwa kandi akaba ari ingabire n’inshingano za buri muntu wese wakiriye agakiza kuzuzwa n'Umwuka wera. (Eph 1:17-18; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27)

We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts to every believer. God uniquely uses evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers in the assembly in order that they can do the work of the ministry. (Rom 123-8; 1 Cor 12:4-11, 28; Eph 4:7-12)

Twizera ko Imana ifite imbaraga n'ubusugire mugutanga impano y'umwuka wera kuri buri wese wizera. Imana ikoresha muburyo budasanzwe abavuga butumwa, abapastoli n’ abigisha kugirango bahe abayoboke mu iteraniro ububasha bwogukora akazi bashinzwe k’ivuga butumwa. (Rom 123-8; 1 Cor 12:4-11, 28; Eph 4:7-12)

We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing were, in every case, to bring a person to the knowledge of the Gospel.

Twemera kandi ko impano y’ikimenyetso cy'Umwuka wera nko kuvuga mundimi no gukiza, ko nabyo ari muri buri buryo bwose, inzira yo kugira ngo Umuntu amenye ubutumwa bwera bw'Imana.

We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit. We believe tongues is another spoken language of the world that one can learn to speak through study and is not a supernatural prayer language to God. God can on extremely rare occasion give people the gift of tongues exclusively in order to present the Gospel to a lost person by which he or she can come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. God can and has chosen to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing. (1 Cor 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22)

Twemera ko kuvuga mu ndimi bitigeze biba ikimenyetso rusange cyangwa cya ngombwa cyane cyo kubatizwa no kuzura umwuka wera. Twemera ko ururimi rw'Umwuka ari urundi rurimi ruvugwa kwisi Umuntu ashobora kwiga kuvuga binyuze munyigisho, ko atari uburyondenga kamere bw’isengesho ribwirwa Imana. Imana ishobora gake nagake gutanga impano yokuvuga ururimi rw'Umwuka kugira ngo itangarize Umuntu wayo wazimiye ubutumwa bwayo bwera bityo bigatuma amenya akanemera Yesu Kristo. Imana ishobora kandi yahisemo gusubiza amasengesho y'abayizera ibakiza muburyo bugaragarir’amaso. (1 Cor 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22)

(F)      The Total Depravity of Man

(F) Intege nkeya z'Umuntu

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and with understanding of sin becomes accountable for sin, and thus alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph 2:1-3; 4:17-19)

Twemera ko Imana yaremye Umuntu mw’ishusho yayo; kandi asa nayo, ariko kubw’igicumuro cya Adamu, ikiremwa-muntu kirahagwa, kuko cyarazwe kamere y'ubunyacyaha, kandi Umuntu mukwiyumvisha icyaha, Umuntu wese abanzwa icyo cyaha, bityo Umuntu acika ku Mana, abur’umurage, kandi adashobora kwikiriz’ubwe ibyo yatakaje. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph 2:1-3; 4:17-19)

(G)     Salvation

(G) Agakiza

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness and washing away of our sins. The receiving of that gift is the only acceptable salvation plan. (John 1:12; Eph 1:17; 2:8-10; Heb 9:22-28; 1 Pet 1:4-5)

Twemera ko agakiza ari impano y'Imana yazanywe kubw’ubuntu kandi kakakirwa n'uwizera kugiticye urimumukiza wacu Yesu Kristu; watumeneye amaraso ye afite agaciro katagereranywa i Kaluvaliyo kugirango ibyaha byacu bibabararirwe kandi ayo maraso akanatwoza ibyaha byacu. Kwakira iyo mpano nibwo buryo bwonyine bwemewe muri gahunda yo kwakira akakiza. (John 1:12; Eph 1:17; 2:8-10; Heb 9:22-28; 1 Pet 1:4-5)

(H)     The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers

(H) Umutekano uhoraho n’ikizere kubemera

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor 1:4-8; 1 Pet 1:4-5)

Twemera ko abakijijwe bose, bakiriye agakiza, barindwa n'imbaraga z'Imana bakaba bafite umutekano uhoraho muri Yesu Kristo iteka ryose. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor 1:4-8; 1 Pet 1:4-5)

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian Liberty as an occasion to the flesh. However, a believer who sins will suffer the consequences of sin and is not exempt from the natural punishments the sin brings. (Rom 12:12-14; Gal 5:13; Titus 2:11-15, Gal 6:7)

Twemera ko ari Ingabire y'abemera kunezerwa bizera agakiza bafite batanga ubutumwa bwera bw’ijambo ry’Imana; iryo jambo ariko rikabuza Umukristo gukora ibyo umubiri wishakiye yitwaje ubwisanzure afite. Icyakora uwemera uzakora icyaha azahanwa n'ingaruka zacyo, kandi ntazasimbuka ingaruka kamere icyaha kigira kubagikoze. (Rom 12:12-14; Gal 5:13; Titus 2:11-15, Gal 6:7)

(I)       The Church

(I) Itorero

We believe that the local Church, which is the body and espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons. (1 Cor 12:12-14; 2 Cor 11:2; Eph 1:22-23; 5:25-27)

Twemera ko itorero, ariryo mubiri kandi umugeni wa Kristu, rigizwe n’abantu bavutse ubwakabiri. (1 Cor 12:12-14; 2 Cor 11:2; Eph 1:22-23; 5:25-27)

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local Churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim 3:1-3; Titus 1:5-11)

Twemera ko gushyiraho gushinga insengero no kuzikomeza byigishwa kandi bikanasobanurwa mw’isezerano rishya rya Bibiliya. (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim 3:1-3; Titus 1:5-11)

We believe in the autonomy of the local Church free of any external authority or control. (Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom 16:1,4; 1 Cor 3:9, 16; 5:4-7, 13; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

Twemera ubwigege bw'amatorero y'utugari n'uturere mugihugu; ko atagira abayagenga baturutse hanze. (Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom 16:1,4; 1 Cor 3:9, 16; 5:4-7, 13; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

We recognize water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the Church. (Matt 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 18:18; 1 Cor 11:23-26)

Twemera umubatizo w'amazi abantu bakayabinikamo n'ifunguro ry'umwami nkuko amahame yashyizweho n'ijambo ry'Imana bigaragaza kumvira kw’ Itorero. (Matt 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 18:18; 1 Cor 11:23-26)

We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day and as such is the day where the members of the Church shall come together. (Acts 20:7; Ps 118:24; Heb 10:24-25. 1 Cor 16:2; Rev 1:10; John 20:1, 19)

Twemera ko umunsi wa mbere w’icyumweru ari umunsi w'Imana nokubera izo mpamvu akaba ariwo munsi abagize itorero bahurira guhimbaza uwiteka. (Acts 20:7; Ps 118:24; Heb 10:24-25. 1 Cor 16:2; Rev 1:10; John 20:1, 19)

(J)      Separation

(J) Kwitandukanya

We believe that all believers should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded by God. (Rom 12:1-2; 14:13; 2 Cor 6:14-7:1; 2 Tim 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11)

Twemera ko abemera bose bagomba kubaho muburyo butagomba kugayisha umukiza wabo kandi umwami wabo, bityo tukaba twitandukanije n'amadini asenga ibigirwamana, abashimishwa no kunezeza irari ry'umubiri bakora ibyaha, kuko ibyo bikorwa n’ayo mashyirahamwe y'inkozi zibibi agawa kandi agahanwa n'Imana. (Rom 12:1-2; 14:13; 2 Cor 6:14-7:1; 2 Tim 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11)

(K)     The Second Coming of Christ and the Thousand Year Reign of Christ

(K) Ihindukira rya Kristu n'ubutegetsibwe bw'Imyaka igihumbi

We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent return of Christ Who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with his saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom for a thousand years, which was promised to the nation of Israel. (Ps 89:3-4; Dan 2:31-45; Zech 14:4-11; 1 Thess 1:10; 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6)

Twemera mu "Kwizera gufite umugisha" ko Yesu Kristo agiye kuza vuba ubwe ko azazamura itorero rye imyaka irindwi mbere y’ibihe byakaga. Kw’iherezo ry’ako kaga Kristu aziyizira ubwe kumugaragaro n’abera be, gushyiraho ingoma y'ubwami bw'ijuru kw’isi izamara imyaka igihumbi; nkuko byijejwe abayisirayeli. (Ps 89:3-4; Dan 2:31-45; Zech 14:4-11; 1 Thess 1:10; 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6)

(L)      The Eternal State of the Soul and of Heaven and Hell

(L) Uko umwuka uhoraho iteka, ijuru n'umuriro utazima

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment. (Mat 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Rev 20:5-6, 12-14)

Twemera ko imibiri y'abantu bapfuye yose izazuka, ko abakiriye agakiza bazagira ubugingo buhoraho kandi abatarakakiriye bazacirwa urubanza bagahabwa ibihano bihoraho. (Mat 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Rev 20:5-6, 12-14)

We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord in Heaven, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43; 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thess 4:16-17; Rev 20:4-6)

Twemera ko imyuka y’abakiriye agakakiza, iyo bapfuye iba yatandukanye n'umubiri; Umwuka ugasanga Uwiteka mwijuru; aho mubyishimo bidasanzwe uhora ubizi kandi utegereje izuka ryambere, ubwo umwuka roho n'umubiri byongera bigahura bikazahora bihimbazwa ubuziraherezo hamwe n'Imana. (Luke 23:43; 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thess 4:16-17; Rev 20:4-6)

We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and torment until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne of Judgement, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment. Hell was not created for man, but for Satan and his angels, But it was man’s choice to sin that condemned him to Hell and it will be man’s choice of the acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Saviour that will save him. (Matt 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thess 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Rev 20:11-15, Rom 10:13; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 6; Mat 25:41)

Twemera ko Umwuka w'abatizera usigara, nyuma y’urupfu, mubihano n’akaga ugahora ubabara, kugeza igihe cy’izuka rya kabiri, igihe Umwuka n'umubiri bizahurira bikajyanwa imbere y'intebe yera y’igitangaza y'imanza hanyuma bikajugunywa mu nyanja y'umuriro, atari kugirango bishye bikongoke ahubwo ar’ukugirango bijye bihora byumva bibabara kubera ibyo bihano n’ako kababaro. Umuriro utazima ntabwo waremewe umuntu ahubwo ni satani n'abamarayika be, ariko kubwo guhitamo k’umuntu agakora icyaha byatumye ahanirwa ibyaha akaba yoherezwa mu muriro utazima kandi nanone bizaturuka ku guhitamo k’umuntu kwemera Yesu Kristo nk’umukiza we kugira ngo amukize ibyo bihano biteganyirijwe abanyabyaha.  (Matt 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thess 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Rev 20:11-15, Rom 10:13; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 6; Mat 25:41)

(M)    The Personality of Satan

(M) Imeterere ya Satani

We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and, that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. He is the accuser of the brethren and our adversary, seeking whom he may devour. (Job 1:6-7; Isa 14:12-17; Matt 4:2-11; 25:41; 1 Pet 5:8; Rev 12:10; 20:10)

Twemera ko Satani ari Umuntu, ko ariwe nkomoko akaba arinawe wateye ibyaha Umuntu agatsindwa n'icyaha. Kandi akaba ari umwanzi w’ Imana n'abantu ku mugaragaro, akaba azahanishwa kujugunywa munyanja y'umuriro utazima ubuziraherezo. Niwe ushinja abafatanyije mukwemera Imana akaba ari umurezi wa bene data kandi aturwanya, ashaka uwo yamira. (Job 1:6-7; Isa 14:12-17; Matt 4:2-11; 25:41; 1 Pet 5:8; Rev 12:10; 20:10)

(N)     Creation

(N) Kuremwa

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. (Gen 1-2; Ex 20:11)

Twemera ko Imana yaremye isi n'ijuru muminsi itandatu buri munsi ugizwe n'amasaha makumiyabiri nane (24 hrs). Duhakanya abavugako isi n'ibiyirimo bitaremwe n'Imana tukanahakanya abatemera Imana kuko ibyo bavuga babikomora ahandi hatari mwijambo ry'Imana nkuko ryanditse muri Bibiliya. (Gen 1-2; Ex 20:11)

(O)    Civil Government

(O) Ubutegetsi bw'abantu

We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home; 2) the Church; and 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the Church and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. (Rom 13:1-7; Eph 5:22-24; Heb 13:17; 1 Pet 2:13-14)

Twemera ko Imana yashyizeho kandi ikanarema ubutegetsi ubwo aribwo bwose bugizwe n'imitwe itatu: 1) Urugo, 2) Itorero, 3) na Leta. Buriwese ategekwa n’iyimitwe, ariko hose (harimo n'abategetsi ubwabo) bategekwa n'Imana kandi bayoborwa n'ijambo ryayo. Imana yahaye buri mutwe uvuzwe haruguru inshingano zihariye zishingiye kuri Bibiliya kandi Imana yatanze izo nshingano kuburyo nta mutwe w'ubutegesti muri iyo yavuzwe haruguru ufite uburenganzira bwo kubangamira uburenganzira bw’ iyindi. Urugo, Kiriziya na Leta bifite uburinganire n'ubusugire munshingano zabo akaba ari inshingano bahawe n'Imana nkuko Bibiliya ibivuga. (Rom 13:1-7; Eph 5:22-24; Heb 13:17; 1 Pet 2:13-14)

(P)      Human Sexuality

(P) Imibonano mpuzabitsina mubantu

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Gen 2:24; Gen 19:5, 13; Gen 26:8-9; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:26-29; 1 Cor 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess 4:1-8; Heb 13:4)

Twemera ko Imana yategetse ko ntamibonano mpuzabitsina igomba kubaho mubantu batashakanye hagati y'umugore n'umugabo, Twemera ko imibonano mpuzabitsina hagati yabantu bahuje ibitsina haba ari hagati yabagabo, abagore, gukora imibonano mpuzabitsina nibikoko, imibonano mpuzabitsina hagati y'abavandimwe, imibonano mpuzabitsina hagati y'abatarashaka, ubusambanyi, kureba filmi cyangwa ibishimishamo by’urukozasoni ari ukwiroha mu mico mibi y’ibyaha bitandukanyije n'impano y'ibitsina Imana yahaye abantu. (Gen 2:24; Gen 19:5, 13; Gen 26:8-9; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:26-29; 1 Cor 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess 4:1-8; Heb 13:4)

(Q)    Divorce and Remarriage

(Q) Gutandukana burundu kw’abashakanye no kongera gushaka

We believe that God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses’ dies. Divorce and remarriage is regarded as adultery except on the grounds of fornication. However, divorced and remarried people can still be used of God in any capacity that God intends for them. Although divorced and remarried persons or divorced persons may hold positions of service in the Church and be greatly used of God for Christian service, they may not be considered for the offices of pastor or deacon (Mal 2:14-17; Matt 19:3-12; Rom 7:1-3; 1 Tim 3:2, 12; Titus 1:6)

Twemera ko Imana yanga gutandukana burundu kwabashakanye ko Imana yagenye ko ubushyingiranwe bugomba guseswa n'urupfu rwumwe mubashakanye. Gutandukana burundu kw’abashakanye no kongera gushaka bitwarwa nk’ubusambanyi bw’abatarigeze bashakana nagato. Icyakora abantu batandukanye bakongera bagashaka bashobora gukoreshwa n'Imana muburyo ubwo aribwo bwose Imana ishaka kubakoreshamo. Nubwo abatandukanye bakongera gushaka bashobora kugira umwanya w'ubuhereza mw'itorero bakaba banakoreshwa mu mwuga w'Imana, bashobora kudahabwa umwanya w'ubushumba bw'itorero cyangwa ubudiyakoni. (Mal 2:14-17; Matt 19:3-12; Rom 7:1-3; 1 Tim 3:2, 12; Titus 1:6)

(R)     Abortion

(R) Gukuramo inda kubushake

We believe that human life begins at conception and that unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused murder of unborn human life. Abortion without doubt is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or mental well being of the mother are acceptable. Birth control is acceptable provided the means used is to prevent conception only, all other forms of birth control we regard as a type of abortion (Job 3:16; Ps 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)

Twemera ko ubuzima bw'umuntu butangira igisamwa kandi ko umwana utaravuka aba ari umuntu utaravuka aba ari umuntu ufite ubuzima. Gukuramo inda kubushake rero ni uburyo budasobanutse, budashobora kubabarirwa bwo kwica Umwana utari wavuka; gukuramo inda kubushake ntakabuza n’ubuhotozi. Twamaganye inyigisho izo arizo zose zivuga ko kuvanamo inda kubera ko wafashwe kungufu, kubera ko wayitewe n'amwene wanyu; kubera ko Umwana ashobora kugira ibibazo avutse, guhitamo ibitsina, kuringaniza imbyaro muri ubwo buryo, cyangwa imibereho myiza mubitekerezo bya nyina, n’ibindi, ibyo byose ntibyemewe. Uburyo bwokuringaniza imbyaro bwemewe ni ubwo kwirinda gusama gusa, ubundi buryo bufatwa nko gukuramo inda. (Job 3:16; Ps 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)

(S)     Missions

(S) Intego/Inshingano

We believe that God has given the Church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ we must use all available means to go to the foreign nations and not wait for them to come to us. (Mat 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor 5:20)

Twemera ko Imana yahaye Itorero inshingano ikomeye cyane yo gutangaza ubutumwa bwiza bwayo mumahanga yose, kugirango habe benshi cyane muri buri gihugu, ubwoko, ibice n'indimi bemera umukiza ariwe mwami wacu Yesu Kristu. Nk’abahagarariye Kristu kw’isi tugomba gukoresha uburyo bushoboka bwose kujya mumahanga nti dutegereze ko abo aribo baza badusanga. . (Mat 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor 5:20)

(T)     Lawsuits Between Believers

(T) Imanza zo munkiko hagati yabagize itorero

We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or our Church to resolve personal disputes. We believe the Church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between its members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek compensation for injuries from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander. (1 Cor 6:1-8; Eph 4:31-32)

Twemera ko abakristu babujijwe gutanga ibirego mbonezamubano kuri bagenzi babo, Twemera kandi ko Itorero rifite uburyo bwose ryakemura amakimbirane hagati y’abarigize. Twemera ko Itorero rifite ubushobozi ubwo aribwo bwose bwo gukemura amakimbirane hagati y'abanyamuryango ashobora gusaba indishyi y'akababaro umwishingizi w'umunyamuryango mugenzi we apfa kutabikorana ubugome agamije kumutesha agaciro no kumusebya. (1 Cor 6:1-8; Eph 4:31-32)

(U)     Giving

(U) Gutanga

We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated, by scripture, to support his local Church financially if he can. We believe that God has established the tithe as a basis for giving, but that every Christian should prayerfully seek God’s will for other giving as they feel God leads them, for the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. Though we believe that every Christian should tithe of the first fruits of all his increase, it is not the job of the Church or of the Pastor to check on which members do and don’t. It is, like every other command, between them and God. (Gen 14:20; Prov 3:9-10; Mal 3:7-12; Acts 4:34-37; 1 Cor 16:2; 2 Cor 9:6-7; Gal 6:6; Eph 4:28; 1 Tim 5:17-18; 1 John 3:17)

Twemera ko buri mukristu nkumushumba/umubitsi wigice cyubukungu bw'Imana yamuragije, kubw’ijambo ry’Imana, afite inshingano yogushyigikira itorero ryaho atuye akarifashisha amafaranga mugihe abishoboye. Twemera ko Imana yashyizeho amaturo y’icyacumi nk’umusingi wo gutanga, ariko buri mukristu agomba gusenga agashaka ubushake bw'Imana kubirebana n’ayandi maturo nkuko Imana ibayoboye, kugirango bafashe abatishoboye, banakwirakwize ubutumwa bwera bw'Imana. Nuko Twemera ko buri mukristu agomba gutanga ku muganura w'ibanze w’ibyo yiyongereye byose, ntabwo ari inshingano z'itorero cyangwa umushumba waryo kugirango agenzure uko abanyamuryango babikora cyangwa badakora. Nink’itegeko rindi ryose hagati yabo n'Imana. (Gen 14:20; Prov 3:9-10; Mal 3:7-12; Acts 4:34-37; 1 Cor 16:2; 2 Cor 9:6-7; Gal 6:6; Eph 4:28; 1 Tim 5:17-18; 1 John 3:17)
